Men grow a moustache because they have something to hide.
People who change their name do so for the same reason.
As the world around us descends further into chaos with all the systems upon which we depend continuing on into disarray and disintegration we are left with the burning question: what to do now? As part of the Old Ways: we in our ignorance and innocence used an approach that was once appropriate to the ages and time for which it was developed, NOW however that Old system is tired and broken. The foisting of responsibility onto the old paradigm structures of expecting the external authorities – governments and politicians – to take care of us – is NOW passé and redundant. Anyone who still believes (or holds out hope), that politicians have the care or capacity to initiate the changes needed – are delusion at best, moronic in truth. As for the private sector: with the exception of a few mindful corporate entities, this (capitalist) system too is NOW defunct: driven by the need to make profit – a win at all cost mentality that discourages and/or disallows interruption to its unsustainable bottom line ethic. So the two entities that were once designed and prepared to include the health of the many into their proper function are now bereft of such concerns. Some say technology will save us – someone will invent a way to halt these unwanted changes to right the ship the chorus chimes and then we can all relax and get back to how things should be. Really – a world wherein many are left to starve, dehydrate or survive without shelter: where children are sold as commodities to be savagely abused or butchered as an act of war – really – is this a world worth saving? We NOW live within a society that has become soulless where corruption is king, a world where there is scant regard for the human components of care and co-creation: a civilisation that is persistently void of support for each of its citizens – no encouragement to find meaning, where finding meaning would be defined as inclusive of supporting the care of and for all. The above outlined scenario contains both the good news and the bad for NOW it has become incumbent upon each of us to accept the task at hand and this task is twofold: the first part is the conscious taking of responsibility for how we (each) live our life. Incorporated into this notion is the day to day decision making process: the minutiae – the why’s and wherefores of how we make every choice and that with each choice made for it to be based upon the knowing that each decision and choice has impact upon the planet and all the species that live upon her.
Because the Macro is made up of the Micro the collective is comprised of individuals this brings us back to this story’s central character – as Paul McCartney once sang of Sgt Pepper “It was twenty years ago today –“ the timeframe is also true for this part of my own story. At the turn of the century I decided to change my name, this decision was based upon any number of reasons among which was to treat the occasion (see below) as a ‘rite of passage’. I was at the time living away from where I had spent the bulk of the years of prelude. It suddenly dawned on me that my life had taken an unexpected detour and that I was NOW in a situation where I got to choose the direction that the rest of my life’s path would follow. I wanted to mark the occasion with some sort of token, a memento and since I didn’t like the notion of getting a tattoo I decided upon changing my name. This would supply sufficient and lasting meaning to what had transpired and hopefully (because of the unfamiliar sound of the new name each time it was applied) it would also encourage me to become more conscious and determined to remember that I could always make choices as I set about the remainder of my life’s journey. The act, the rite was also one of rebellion for it had also occurred that the name I had been given as a baby was not of my choosing – I had always felt that we should be able to have some input into our ‘given’ name – the tag that would become affixed to us for the rest of our life – so I took the opportunity to walk the talk. How does this relate back to the requirement of authenticity and what has twenty years got to do with it? I had no idea how much our lives are impacted by our name, in fact we identify so strongly with it that we actually believe our name is who we are and as I was to find out that any alteration to this core belief is very unsettling: suddenly you are not who you have been! The decision to implement the change was all well and good whilst I was in the new environment, with new people: that is folks who didn’t know me by any other former name; however when the time arrived for me to return to my roots this was an entirely different scenario. Of course everybody knows that Men grow a moustache because they have something to hide and People who change their name do so for the same reason – there was obviously something nefarious and/or sinister that had occurred: I was running from something or hiding something or both or I had gone crazy. This biased mindset is very hard to penetrate and any attempt at explanation generally fell onto deaf ears, was met with suspicion or sympathy for the poor crazy person. These discriminatory responses were even harder to deal with when I realised that had it been another person and I was making judgement of them for changing their name I would have reacted in the exact same fashion – quite confronting to see how unconsciously judgemental I could be. So back to NOW: twenty years on – and the need to be authentic.
As mentioned earlier the unconscious affiliation with our ‘given’ name is stuck to us like shit to a blanket, like bubble gum to a teenagers matted hair. Remaining glued to how we think the world is – our own world view (via our name) gives us a sense of stability. We join a club, we join a church – we adopt the herd mentality and find safety in numbers. All of these benefits arrive it’s true but at what cost? What about when the beliefs of the herd no longer align with our own – what then. How do we retain our integrity if we see beliefs and behaviours that are based upon redundant ways of thinking that contain the innate ability to produce harmful judgements and outcomes? How are we being authentic if we don’t respond to the events that we know are wrong in a proper manner and in alignment with our updated views? We are NOW in a real bind a predicament, anyone with half a brain can see ‘things ain’t right’ – but where are the noise makers – what is stopping us from responding properly to these obvious wrongs?
The second part of the task is all about our authenticity: i.e. being authentic and we do this via the alignment of who we are with how we behave. We consciously and reverently put our soul back to where it belongs: into its rightful and pivotal place – into its Highness and from there we realign our own soul with the soul of the earth – our mother earth – in her highness. This alignment creates a centripetal spiral out into the galaxy from whence we came – our essential being in line with the universal vibration. This might all sound grandiose – farfetched – beyond our scope, this is not so. It is the constant conscious choices we make – it is the display of our personal commitment – incremental evidence of our desire to receive instruction – to humbly retrieve and apply the human traits of care and compassion. As mentioned earlier the taking of this action is not optional for if we are to survive the metamorphic shift that is already in motion then we have to be(come) the individual we were destined to be – I have to be Emmett. Only through being authentically me will I be able to participate, to make contribution to the needs of the collective. Each and every day I have to willingly realign the template of me – that arrived with my first ever breath – to the breath that arrives for me each and every day. This new way of living on the planet will be done by living with the planet by way of humility and conscious reverence. We need to be able to let go of the old ways, the old thinking. The shift underway with the obvious example of climate change – is not for ‘fixing’ – the scope of this one aspect of the whole metamorphosis is beyond our ability to ‘fix’. These seemingly negative Earthchanges are symptomatic: yes mother earth is letting us know that our poor conduct, bad behaviour and general mistreatment will no longer be tolerated but they are also part of a far bigger event. They are indicators of how I have become removed from my own ‘true’ self and that I need to consciously find a better way of conducting myself to elicit a return. These Earthchange indicators are the equivalent of archetypes of the psyche – neutral until activated. In the same way that we have to surrender and await instruction to be included into the metamorphosis we also need to willingly accept these archetypes as (mostly unwanted) aspects of self or they will continue to be interfering ghosts and remain calamitous. For those who know this information to be true you can ‘take heart’ – we have been invited to be part of the changes and to do this we cannot afford to let ourselves be overwhelmed by the size and scope of the disruptions. This is a ‘shift’ and this shift is away from the old and towards the proper new. The vast majority of us have until now been functioning through our intellect and forgetting that living without ‘heart’ – without reverence has produced this current situation. Our role is as mentioned: to concede that our thinking self does not know the way. Each of us needs to STOP and go within: inside the self. It is only by aligning, allowing the consciousness that is our essence to rest alongside the soul that we will get to hear the messages that are being offered from the God self: the source of pure intelligence and the source of magik. Each time you allow your breath to align with the template – the essential you – magik is made and the life path to your destiny becomes illuminated. It is this simple profound action – being still and listening that will allow you to be part of the changes, part of the evolution. And so it is for me – a modern day version of Rumpelstiltskin – or in the Oz vernacular Wrinkledforeskin. I have spent the last 20 years in slumber: yes asleep but as any dreamer will agree – being asleep is the best time to dream. As I awaken from my period of hibernation – each morning – I realise that if I want to bring the images and information that were Magikally formed during the sleep state, the dream world and into this 3D world to become integral part of the Earthshift changes – her metamorphosis – then I have to be my authentic self.
And speaking of Technology –
The Wizards of cyberspace are currently under the spell of their most recent project – to jack a smart phone direct into the brain stem. This will enable the user to give and receive information via thoughts, directly to/from the brain to the techno device. As exciting/enticing as the prospect of achieving this might be – to some – it is still more of the same: just another advance in technology. Anything that does not contain Heart intelligence will simply produce more of the same old crap. When Oppenheimer was working on his recipe thinking he might find/create a fuel source that would supply everyone with a clean green alternative the technology was instead used to create Weapons of Mass Destruction and we all know how that turned out. We have also given the nuclear industry permission to build over 450 nuclear power plants that as part of the looming mass extinction event will – when workers vacate their work stations at these facilities the power rods will become so incredibly hot that they will burn planet earth to a cinder – Hm that was a good idea and use of technology. Yes perhaps one day – if we survive the apocalypse – we will find a way of using radioactive isotopes to power long range spacecraft that will enable the chosen few to head off into space, into the ever expanding universe – the final frontier if you believe all the past captains of the starship Enterprise. Sorry to be a wet blanket (again) the desire to leave terra firma is just another distraction: the final frontier is, was and will always be located and found in the opposite direction of travelling outward. The essence of who we are is the ‘thing’ that we are searching for – it is within inside of us and it is this ‘Knowing’, this Knowledge that we need to understand and to stand under. I’m not saying don’t travel into outer space and I am not saying don’t play the piano: in fact all creative pursuits are highly recommended. It is about priorities that unless the captain on the bridge of the spaceship Enterprise has capacity to go inward to his heart space first – before any command or instruction issued to his navigational crew is given the journey’s effort will only ever yield a destination with more of the same – it might look different but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…….
