Daryl Zero and the Search for ET’s

Maladroit misanthrope the world’s most effective (but defective) detective suggests that “when looking for a thing – include all the things: objects, places and spaces – in the world or run the risk of not finding the object of your quest because of the limits created from using a smaller search area”. Of course this advice is not to be taken literally – for who could look in every nook? The advice is essential i.e. of essence; it means to keep the mind open and subsequently the search area. To think laterally as well as literally and most importantly to use our Gut instinct, our intuitive skills and allow our mind to meander, to ponder and to reflect. Redemption is both the goal and the act: we are looking to redeem an aspect of the ‘self’ a part of us invisible to the naked ear and one that cannot be known to our left brain thinking. The act of recording/journaling (the details) becomes sacred when we approach the task inclusive of the notion of numinosity. By working with the Gods: i.e. the archetypal (living within the individual and collective unconscious) – we keep the process ‘alive’. And just like when we take up a pen/cil to capture the image from a dream the more nonsensical the better, we keep the faith in the images and symbols to contain and deliver the exact right information: vital and direct from source and we can accept the form without question – it is incorruptible. Our task is to decipher the meaning whilst leaving the symbology and imagery intact with its vibrancy and colour. This is soul work and it is zeitgeist work – the spirits and ghosts are here and now: haunting and willing to assist. We can further our cause, our quest and the search by using the right approach and the correct ‘tools’. Astrology is one such ‘tool’ for it speaks in the same dialect as the language of symbols. And it is here within the deciphering process: using the Astro symbols – that we need to be astute and invite the spirit of Daryl Zero into the process and to become our own agent provocateur, to collaborate and converse with the ghosts and the gods – as Jung would posit “Called or not (Called) your Gods will be there”. We might as well be clever and do the work alongside these Gods.

Let’s use Saturn as an example. Saturn has had a bit of a bum rap over the years, yes he is the Lord of Limits but he is also the bringer of structure. I personally have natal Saturn conjunct my 12th house Scorpio moon and I felt for a long time as though I have been incarcerated by this configuration. It wasn’t until I surrendered to the situation that my preconceived view of confinement of cloister transformed to become sanctuary and security: where the environment was suddenly supportive of the process to further the quest. Once I ceased the evading and avoiding – that was linked to the limited view – I understood that I could foster my own ‘self’ discipline doing what Liz Greene would call “Crafting of a deep inner authority, where what is difficult is welcomed – in a bid to extract things of value”. I no longer needed to be victim of circumstance, I have instead taken responsibility for ‘my lot’ as extension of the ideal of being co-creator and as extension to this ideal that I chose my set of living arrangements in order to access specific life lessons.

Astrology – what the F*+! is it?

To the general population Astrology is a bit of whimsy – check today’s stars, read our horoscope as we wait for our GP or dentist appointment. This view does of course have an element of truth, but it is not the total definition of what Astrology might be.

Astrology is also a way to see and interpret the human based view of all things existential. It operates on the premise that the universe is alive and conscious: e.g. Chi, Prana, Anima Mundi – which means the entire shebang functions via an intelligent vibration. It also proposes that – we as individual humans – have chosen to incarnate into the specific body within which we reside (in the) Here and Now. And as extension to/and of this vibrating intelligence, we have chosen time, date and place of birth to ensure that we are (always) where we need to be in order to learn the lessons attached to the birth event. Astrology suggests that the planets/celestial bodies within our solar system are each imbued with specific ‘archetypal energies’ (see below for definition of archetypes), that produce, yield patterns – messages that will resonate and correlate to each human’s specific lessons via direct experiential exchange between our living body/psyche, the living intelligent cosmos and the minutiae and events as they play out. In short Astrology is a method for developing insight into the self – to get to “Know Thyself” – and ones latent potential via pattern recognition – the mandala of the cosmos’ spirals, cycles – lessons on offer …………… as above – so below.

Astrology is the using of symbolic language in a bid to communicate and deal with the less visible aspects of the human psyche and the surrounding environmental conditions wherein we are born and reside. Astrology creates and opens a portal – a way into the ‘self’ – which promotes communication and understanding of the life journey, it enables us as observer/participant the means whereby we can see and locate patterns and cycles that contain the potential to supply and promote meaning to the seemingly random events of the everyday. The Birth/Natal chart is essentially the capturing of the pattern of the surrounding heavens – in symbolic form – at the moment we enter this human life. This approach/methodology can illuminate areas from within our psyche that contain the innate capacity to show and bring benefit from life’s lessons as they appear. This means that as we set about (consciously) living our life journey there will be particular life events of significance that will align with or correspond to specific astrological/planetary transits or movement. Astrology is – in its broadest sense: the search for human meaning via observation and interaction between one’s conscious self – the psyche, live events and the extended world in which we reside. It seeks to shed light upon both the general/collective behaviour and the more specific individualised life events that occur (synchronously) via the influence of planets/celestial bodies and us within the confines of 3D planetary living.

Archetypal Correspondence – the language of symbol – according to CG Jung’s definition “An Archetype is an inherited, inherent and ancient aspect of the collective unconscious that is present within the individual psyche that typically presents in symbolic form – is essentially neutral – i.e. without any ascribed meaning – until activated (energised) by wilful movement from the unconscious to the conscious realms”

The basic principle of astrology infers that the planets contain fundamental, cosmically based connection to specific archetypal forces or principles (captured within the collective unconscious) which influence human existence and behaviours, character and personality and in direct association also suggest that the patterns formed by the planets positions and movement/transits through the heavens will bear meaningful correspondence to the patterns of human affairs on the Earth. In terms of individuals, the positions of the planets at the time, date and place of a person’s birth are regarded as corresponding to the basic archetypal patterns of that person’s life and character. The birth moment – leaving the mother’s womb – taking our first breath that we become archetypally imbued – imprinted and affected by the ‘Gods/archetypes’ to produce specific symbols aligned with specific (karmic) lessons for which we have chosen this particular time and life. The Natal/birth chart can provide for us a vivid portrait of one’s total self and the potentials on offer – its usefulness however will be entirely dependent upon how willing we are to face our true character: i.e. the whole self as revealed in Archetypal form – including the Shadow: parts of the self that may be shunned even disowned due to their difficult, dark or hidden nature/presentation.

Psychology is only now beginning to acknowledge what the astrologers have known for many years: in our (psychological) struggle to bring back the fragmented, lost pieces of ourselves we are oftentimes propelled into a maelstrom of confusion which can shock and terrify but can also awaken us to potential development the possibility for evolution and healing. Our hero/ine’s journey towards individuation may take many paths and have different guises and forms which will correspond to different astrological cycles/transits throughout the living of our lives. Difficult lessons can arrive through loss which will likely be accompanied by suffering. With the honouring and legitimising of these vital occurrences comes opportunity for healing and evolution whereas failure to honour the suffering will see any associated negative symptoms persist. Our diligent approach to THE work will become the way forward as we attempt to make meaning, decipher the codes: finding and using the patterns and cycles of the rich and varied tapestry of life. NB: See Dane Rudhyar’s Acorn theory where the suggestion is that the entirety of our potential is made present by the agreement and arrangement to incarnate at a specific point/place time/space and suggesting that we have contained within us all that we can or will ever be. It differs from the medical/psychological theorem where the psychological notion posits that we need to gather fragmented pieces of the psyche and glue them back on.

NB – Though the goal of using Astrology be an Alchemical process: turning lead into gold – the depiction and  realisation of one’s (potential) destiny it needs to be remembered that using any ‘language’ (including Astrology) within the therapeutic/counselling type arena is based upon the notion to serve the persons involved. It is not designed or deemed to be infallible and the quality of the health of the individual’s life and the nature of the individual’s soul are far more important than any insight that the natal chart may infer or offer. And just like these ‘symbolic’ readings that arrive into the healing/counselling arena via such linguistic use it needs to be mentioned and prioritised that the ownership and interpretation of any language and or symbol always belongs to the individual that provides the image, idea and symbol: i.e. the dream belongs to the dreamer and use remains their choice.

And to quote the very clever modern day Wise Woman and Sha(wo)man Zoë Shuttleworth from her superb website Zodiac Astrological Alchemy – Know Thyselfhttps://zo-diac.com/ the italics below give a beautiful succinct definition for today’s subject matter

Astrology is an ancient art-science that considers the meaning interwoven in the celestial bodies against the backdrop of the zodiac and the mysterious correlation between these cosmic movements and the events in our lives: our inner psychic terrain and thus our human experience.

New Moon in Pisces: Diving and Digging into the watery Depths

With this New Moon we will be encouraged to be a bit more patient than might normally be the case: conjuncting a Retro Mercury a wonderful time to follow our Gut – to intuitively Let Go and Let God.

There is also encouragement via the prevailing and pervasive Nebulousness: that is Pisces home turf – that we can dare to dream – BIG & new – and not be bound by too much detail for the moment. This (minutia) can all be all figured once Mercury decides to turn and run – directly. Fortune favours the pursuit of (bold) Passions and with a backdrop of Earth and Water we aren’t just making mud pies – with positive aspect to the North Node we (can be assured that we) have access to a fertile growing medium- fecund and willing to support whatever seeds we are brave enough to plant.

We can let our imagination have full reign and invite our Shadow to join in – as we are always obliged to “Tell the Whole Story”: the days of preferred cherrypicking a narrative (for personal benefit) are long gone and Mars and Uranus will remain happy to provide reminder of our personal karma (should we default to outdated habitual settings) and that it is time to shift our feminine Dreaminess onto centre stage and let go of the passé old and putrid patriarchal – would be authority mindset crap! For the next few days at least (but hopefully longer) Chiron in Aries is beckoning us to (be)come Outlaw Mavericks, to pull on that thread and see what Dreams just might unravel.

Finding Focus and Centre amid a school of Red Herrings and the Fields of Furphy’s

The master would advise – “Before enlightenment sweep the path, rake the leaves – and after enlightenment sweep the path and rake the leaves”. All well and good for the master who obviously has nothing better to do – what about me sitting within the confines of my life and wondering WTF! And why do I feel so crap? We all want our lives to be BIG, we want a life like those we see on TV – the lives of the rich and famous – having the fiscal resources whereby if we get bored living in Tahiti we can pull the Lear Jet out of the garage and zoom to another location: the ski fields of New Zealand or the surf breaks of Indonesia. Failing a Lotto win this fantasy will remain just that: wishful thinking, a momentary distraction whilst adrift in a sea of mundanity. But what if you are exactly where you need to be. What if the circumstances, the physical environment wherein you reside right now is completely tailor made to supply exactly what you need in order that you become enlightened? “Nah!” we chime in chorus – I don’t want to be here: it is too hard, too soft – too painful, too boring! So we look for distractions that are available to us: the TV remote control, the box of chocolates – we jump online and visit a dating service: surely Mr/Ms Right is out there somewhere – all I need is to find him/her – then I’ll be happy. Back to Master’s advice coupled with the notion that where I am is where I need to be: that somehow I have to sit within the minutiae, minutia and mundanity and ‘feel’ the life of whatever comes to the surface. Man if you thought sweeping and raking was hard wait till you try surrendering to the life you have or even worse sitting still! If we should decide to accept the challenge – and believe me it will be challenging – and we delete all the possible/potential distractions: (temporarily – we don’t want to get too gung-ho) the mobile/cell phones, TV’s (including the justifiable outrage at current affairs presentations), Computer games, Books, Food, Sex, Social engagements/media etc. the list of ways whereby we can be distracted – and away from the Here & Now – is almost endless. And if we choose the path of non-distraction and we live within the life we have, we also automatically get to live in accordance with the Master’s advice.

We don’t do this because when we delete the distractions, the props – we are faced with ‘feelings’ we would rather not acknowledge and some of these ‘feelings’ will take us to parts of the self that we do not want to know about let alone acknowledge. They make us feel sick, exhausted – depressed. But once again – as the blade always has two edges – these rejected feelings contain information and no matter how dark and disturbing these feelings might be, the feelings and attached information require time in the light. It is time to take our ‘medicine’ – it might taste awful but it is remedy for what ails us and for a while we will feel worse. Feeling bad/worse is OK you are allowed to ‘feel’ this stuff it’s part of the process – there is nothing wrong with you if you feel like crap: despairing, desperate, disastrous – it’s about acceptance and self-nurturing, self- love – give yourself permission to feel and acknowledge all this stuff. Living in the world today is NOT easy and it is not a world of sweetness and light, there is shit happening all around us and we know and feel it!

Today – possibly more than at any other time in the human’s brief history of living on planet Earth as we are continuously bombarded with Red Herrings and Fake News Furphy’s –e.g the Corona virus bullshit – we need to sit still and surrender to the space/time wherein we are each located. This location is by design not by chance and if we can just sit and surrender long enough – and the ‘time of long enough’ will be unique to each – we will be provided with the opportunity to find our completeness and to be at Peace. This sitting within the life we have is not inactive nor is it passive – the acceptance of ‘being here now’ is the most powerful ‘action’ one can take. Once we have located our own centre and felt the Peace within inside we can return to the ‘world’ armed with the information that was always on offer. From this place of Wisdom we will know exactly what else we have to do as an integral, pivotal member and part of the collective. This is The Work and this is The Time – open wide – drink a big glass of castor oil and wait – woohoo – man what’s that stink – ah it’s the stench of enlightenment.

Viva Las Vagus.

In previous Blog posts I have mentioned the Vagus nerve: the importance of which cannot be overstated/underrated. With a bit of research we will see how many body/mind – brain/gut functions hang off this incredible biological componentry. When viewed in conjunction with our Astrological settings: both personal and transpersonal – influence of stardust upon our own stardust – we see that as I write these words the moon is currently building towards fullness in the sign of the Bull opposite the Sun in Scorpio. Taurus has to do with all things ‘physical’ including the ‘stardust skinbag’ that encapsulates our consciousness – ‘the me’ behind the eyes or wherever we happen to be located? What does this have to do with the Vagus – we ‘first worlders’ i.e. the privileged among the species Homo Sapiens that live on Terra Firma – get to make decisions regarding the way we treat our physical self: e.g. where to live, what to eat etc. Given how much information exchange goes on between brain and gut – via the Vagus Nerve – what we eat becomes of critical importance. We need to have an environment in our gut that is conducive to caring for a thriving village of Microbiome and we need this because our instincts – our gut feelings are the main means of accessing body wisdom. If our choice of diet includes ingredients that negatively impact on the “villagers” then the messages running along the gut/brain pathway can become confused and then decoding of the cipher risks becoming confusing. It is wise to make prudent lifestyle choices so that listening to our gut instincts becomes a very dependable and enjoyable practice.

Wound as Portal to the zeitgeist: let’s talk nonsense.

Meaning for essay keywords:

Portal:

  1. a doorway, gate, or other entrance, especially a large and/or imposing one.
  2. a website or web page providing access or links to other sites.

Zeitgeist:

The defining spirit of the time or the mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time: essentially NOW.

Temenos:

A Sacred space: not just a place but a state of mind, a sanctuary wherein the ‘participants’ feel safe and where contact and conversation with the numinous is sought and encouraged.

Numinous:

Derivative of the Latin Numin – meaning “divine power.” also used to describe the spirit or divine power characteristic of a thing or place.

The Chiron Wound contains the Shadow, the unconscious, the unknown and therefor all our fears and dread: it is the last place that we would willingly tread. But herein lays the quandary and conundrum: it also contains our potential, the key to personal evolution and the bridge to enable access and to reach our greatest gift. To go through the portal/wound we will have to do so without our baggage and ‘cap in hand’ for this portal is only wide enough to accommodate the traveller. We cannot take the past and we cannot see the future. We most certainly cannot take all our much loved beliefs and concepts: small wonder the zeitgeist represents ‘the road less travelled’.

Can all things take their Beginnings from a Source not yet created?

Travellers, searchers and seekers have for millennia been looking for the means to understand the deeper meaning to life and living and to apply this meaning in the pursuit of a purposeful existence. What if we have to forgo all logical sequential endeavours in order to move into and through the Portal? The tools used in the search have included all sorts of appliances: religious practises, extreme sports, ingesting hallucinogens, the list goes on – but it’s always in the last place we look isn’t it? What if we are entering a new space/place where the only tool or valid currency is our ability to be nonsensical: i.e. to receive information not meant for our thought process and where our task is simply to bear witness? Sounds simple enough right? But first we need to consider/know where is the ‘we’ the witness ‘looking on’ objectively? All matter on planet earth was once nought but stardust: wheeled and congealed to take all sorts of sizes and shapes and forms. If we are to believe the proposed theories of evolution some pond scum/algae (politicians) got some sort of electromagnetic charge and voila the next level of human life: – came into being. With the exception of the politicians and Rupert Murdoch the new lifeform continued to evolve until engineers built skyscrapers and freeway flyovers. But back to the issue at hand: where is the observer in all this? If you dare to sit in a quiet environment for two seconds your powers of observation will be able to notice a constant stream of thoughts: incessant and centre stage. In this environment it would seem that the ‘observer/the we’ might be located inside our cranium, behind our eyes. But then you get an itch on your knee and suddenly the ‘observer’ is aware of and becomes the itchy knee. Bruce Lipton’s research into Epigenetics suggests that each cell is conscious and aware – an individual sentient being in its own right. Bruce also suggests that each cell membrane is in contact with the external environment and retrieves information via the antennae in the skin of each cell. So the query continues – almost exponentially: the plot thickens like information laden blood. So far we know that our body is comprised of all the same basic ingredients as the earth on which we tread: minerals and acids that came originally from the stardust to make pond scum. Each (individual) cell is made of stardust and each organ (and bones) is made of individual cells – where is the ‘observer’ now? Dust to dust goes the saying – meaning that we started out as stardust and to stardust we will return. The ‘thing’ that keeps the dust animated is the life force, the Chi – the Prana. Our breath comes into and out of us, one at a time, allowing the ‘observer’ access to continued residence within the animated dust.  So was the ‘observer’ in the dust all along or did it arrive via the incoming first Prana? If each individual cell is self-aware and aware of the environment wherein it resides and is receiving/retrieving information from an external source: where is the intelligent ‘observer’? Is the observer the dust, in the dust or floating without form outside the dust? How does the ‘observer’ decipher the information: sifting wheat from chaff? The findings of cellular memory contained within the text of the book titled The Heart’s Code infers that intelligence and memory are stored within the organs of the body. Cases are cited (in the book) indicate this to be valid suggestion when recipients of donated organs start to behave like the donor: now where is the ‘observer’: particularly relevant if the donor is deceased. Why and how would the behaviours – that are foreign to the organ recipient: i.e. belonging to the donor – persist now that the donor is no longer present?

So back to talking nonsense: the zeitgeist, the portal and the numinous. Sitting still and quiet we notice (via our capacity to become the ‘observer’) that our conscious awareness is caught in the streaming of thought. The zeitgeist is not to be located here because the bulk of these thoughts are concerned with past and future. How then do we get the observer/awareness to the place where the zeitgeist might become available: i.e. from the source not yet created?

Once more we will call on our hero Chiron to offer, make available some sense to the seemingly ever expanding (nonsensical) conundrum. The Wounded Healer archetype lives within each of us and therefor within the collective. Symptoms present so as to make us aware, to remind us that the dust wherein we reside and transit has a finite nature and when life choices are made that are counter to the best interest of the dust the dust suffers: for example too much red meat will produce acidification of the dust and produce symptoms like arthritis, plaque on the walls of the blood/information carrying veins and arteries. The symptoms can also bring something else to the table: the tap on the shoulder, the prompt – information advising that our choices might be interfering with our potential, our evolution: we don’t want those politicians catching up do we? Returning to the aforementioned example of red meat – judicious choices can have positive effect on red meat consumption. Eat fresh fruit and veggies in conjunction and the negatives are lessened. In the same fashion we can look at all presenting symptoms and the interferences can become lessons. Now let’s transpose this hypothesis onto a larger screen. The Macro is comprised of the Micro just as the dust particles make the cells that make the whole body. The 7 billion (plus) dusty inhabitants of the giant dust ball make the collective and NOW we have symptoms that the life choices being made by part of the whole/collective are not only compromising the health of the whole, but left unchecked and without proper response will permit those cretinous politicians to continue which will ensure demise of the collective. It would seem obvious we can no longer place our lives and future in the hands of a corrupt few. I for one am not prepared to hand over my precious dust to those who have no capacity to care or consider its true value. NOW what – how does one little vibrating dust ball make a difference? The answer lays in the zeitgeist – each of us – should we want to remain living are required to find the zeitgeist. We must make our own Temenos and here we must locate and commune with the Numinous, the ‘Divine’ pure intelligence direct from the Source and not yet created. OK the plan is simple – NOW to execute Chiron’s suggestion of taking a deep dive into the foetid fecundity of our personal Shadow: do we really have to? Sorry but yes – we have to willingly dive into the cesspool of our pond scum and willingly accept what we see. Difficult – yep – because we will see that the pond scum we like to call politicians is an aspect of our own self. As distasteful as it is we have to know and to accept that there is a part of our nature that is capable of committing the most heinous atrocities. Having recognised this about our dusty selves we then have to accept, integrate and love this Shadow – there is no beauty without the beast – we are the Yin and the Yang, we are the Devil as much as we are angelic. If we as vibrating dust can sit quietly and humbly amid the ooze and the slime we can access Newness in the NOW-ness. We can become our own authority we can make life choices that produce vitality and health to our own dust particles that will expand and spiral out and into the hearts and soul that is the collective dust. The eureka moment awaits – to get to it – BE QUIET, BE STILL and know the Prana has the power and is the only thing capable of keeping the dust alive within the zeitgeist.

We handed over our one precious life/chance and the custodianship of our earth/home to an external authority and allowed the Shadow to grow. The ‘puppeteers’ put President Bolsonaro into power into Brazil and with one wave of his mighty hand is supporting the burning of the ‘lungs of the planet’ – what could possibly go wrong?  NOW in our ignorance allowing such acts to continue we have inadvertently given birth to a situation that brings with it the end of our life the end of our chance. None can plead innocent and planting a trillion new trees will not equal the loss of the old ones. If some knew the consequences of decisions being made: and be assured they certainly did/do, then by association if by no other means, we are all guilty – the clock is ticking – it’s two minutes to midnight – it’s TIME to stop making sense and help Dorothy to locate her red glass slippers? Be it ever so humble there is no place like it.

P.S. Don’t succumb to the stultifying fear that this predicament brings with it – doing this means the ‘Puppeteers’ have won – get to the zeitgeist – if you don’t know how you had better find out – and quickly!

Sex Manual for Celibates: Confessions of a Dud Root

If you don’t know already – the real sex organs are not available from Hammond? And touch without contact ain’t worth the time and effort. Oh sure I know what goes where and why. I know that the horizontal Tango might best be described thus: the position ridiculous, the pleasure fleeting – the effect eternal

Nature did not endow me with all the ‘attributes’ required to become contemporary Lothario:  I don’t buckle my swash like Errol Flynn or leave starry eyed nymphs in my wake like Mick Jagger. Nature is clever though and in command: what is missing in one department is made up for in another. I was imbued with the heart and soul of the poet (for proof of this claim see the poem below), but nature also has a wonderful sense of humour and made sure I would be void of the accoutrement that would ensure that the flames of desire as fanned by the beautiful words would never deliver the promises these words intimated Ah! Beauty and the Beast – Ha the joke is surely on us. Bad luck for me that all my past lovers had neither sense of humour or patience. I was always kicked to curb with a cupla black eyes and emotional scarring for good measure: accused of withholding….. silly girls  oh ye of little faith – in a world of instant gratification – ye should’ve waited a bit longer and nurtured the Beast. As I began to recognise my own (possibly exaggerated) susceptibility to the need for intimate physical embrace and saw the negative impacts upon my loved ones so I deliberately withdrew from any further involvement – fortunately for me – I know how to wait and while I waited I sought some answers on what makes a sweet guy turn so mean and why I was never likely to deliver the goods. One accurate and applicable depiction of the underlying reasons that had me behave in a particular way are available via the exchange/dialogue from the movie Analyse This where the De Nero gangster character informs the shrink character played by Billy Crystal that he pays ‘working girls’ for pleasures of the flesh where the Billy Crystal shrink character says Why can’t you do these (types of things) with your wife? To which the De Nero character replies Hey, that’s the mouth she kisses my kids goodnight with! What are you, crazy? This mindset is the crux of the matter – rooted deep into the psyche of most western males: and as a result the requirement to consecrate intimate relations with chosen adult partners was doomed: destined to go begging. For as the movie script suggests how could you do those dirty things to your wife – the (potential) mother of your (future) children? And of course also reveals why the hot blooded/bodied women who are themselves craving contact would shoot me and throw me under the bus – not necessarily in that order? So in the final wash-up the results indicate that there a myriad of emotional and psychological parts of the whole affected by this one aspect: far too many to be detailed in this little essay. Suffice to say that the good news is that there is a knowing available – that there is an aspect of the self – the very core of who we are – that is insatiable. It matters little what we have or what we get or what we don’t get or have: when it comes to trying to satisfy of our constant craving: this is the design. We are supposed to crave and we are supposed to acknowledge the craving BUT we also have to understand that attempting to fill the void by using earthly resources will never provide the satisfaction that comes by way of Mum’s lamb roast.

The last time I was involved in the horizontal tango it was one of those occasions where self-gratification was the only goal and as the awareness of this dawned it led to making a conscious choice regarding the ‘S’ word and how to proceed into an authentic expression of the carnal self and the conscious use of libido. One cannot afford the denial of this vast energy source, to do so is at the peril of the whole self: one risks becoming like the religious zealot where the power of carnal instinct overrides the sense of morality – look out choir boys.

The astronomer Charles Kowal was gazing up into the night sky as was his usual want on the eve of November 1 1977 and lo and behold notices a heavenly body zinging through the darkness. Is it a bird, a plane – no it’s (super) Chiron –and suddenly the inhabitants of planet earth were given access to the wounded healer archetype. Chiron was discovered – by earthlings – in 1977 the same year I was introduced to my own version of the Wounded Healer. This introduction arrived via ‘Contact’ with the incurable – an STD – one that cannot be treated by any known means – it is therefore an absolute real example of the quintessential wound that cannot be healed.  Like everything though – there is a positive to the negative –the incurable becomes the great teacher. The qualities within it include – that just like Chiron’s malady/wound it cannot be ‘cured’ and therefore cannot be ignored. So ‘alive’ is it that it interferes with my preferred/chosen hedonistic lifestyle, causes a rethink and demands a different approach. We might have to give our Hero Chiron a different title: rather than call him the Wounded Healer we might have to call him the Wounded Teacher because the idea of healing denotes movement towards a completion or of curing where there is no cure available. This would seem to be a less than satisfactory idea but in truth it is the most wonderful notion. As mentioned in an earlier Blog post regarding ‘Enlightenment’ many of us are on the quest to achieve the sacred state of mind and the attached magical result: i.e. never again having to deal with the problems of our humanness. These two goals: the Healing journey and the quest for spiritual enlightenment are bogus phantoms – a mistake. This does not mean that the two states are not available it simply means that the two are one: they are the same thing – and that they need to be sought AND experienced day in day out, moment to moment – one breath at a time. This also doesn’t mean to cease the quest – in fact quite the opposite. The quest is now ON in earnest AND the challenges are even more intensive. Anyone who has attempted to sit still will already know this. It also doesn’t mean that you can’t seek closeness with other humans: again it means that by keeping the priority of filling one’s own plate first (with Mum’s lamb roast) will supply even more capacity for loving because you don’t need someone to complete you. This is not a lecture by someone who ‘has made it’ – yes I have been enlightened but let’s get rid of the notion that this is a permanent fixture. I have been seduced by desire time and time again (see poem) and look forward to the opportunity to be so again. The difference is that if I fill my plate there is not the dependence and expectation for a transient experience to fulfil me or my life purpose. Phew! I sure am relieved and the pressure is off, I can quite happily admit that I am a dud root – no not the captain of the English cricket team? But I no longer have to be world’s greatest lover or even any good in the sack – plus I once overheard one of my previous girlfriends telling someone that until you have had sex under the influence of cocaine well ya just have never had sex! No chance then Haha. I’m so happy to know that everything will never be enough that even those with endless resources still can’t fill the void. Yeah sure they say it is a lot of fun trying but if you have ever really connected with someone simply – by being present all the positions and paraphernalia don’t get close to this level of contact.

In the not too distant future there will be androids designed and created specifically to sate the carnal appetites of the humans: what then? When the ‘average Joe/Joanne’ gets to treat a soft bodied machine in the same fashion as the wealthy do now with real children: i.e. without morals and free of consequence – like Jeffrey Epstein and his rich cronies. Robot sex is more of the same – like inflatable dolls and dildos they might look shiny and new but still fake. Yes sure having access to a ‘supplicant’ might ease or dissolve many of the current ‘relationship’ issues but how does this counterfeit replacement therapy support the need for the REAL sweet embrace founded upon personal evolution via the requirement for contact with self, responsibility and accountability? Sorry folks – as the man says – Sex is great, Sex is fantastic –BUT there is nothing like the real thing………..

Anticipation and Le Petite Mort an Ode to the Real Thing

  And what of now

How can now be both separate and shared

Reliant upon experience prior for its present place

For only in being separate could I contact

  Such exquisite agony

Awaiting the company of beckoned lover

There did I see time eternal

Between the hearing of footfall in approach

And the ecstasy of touch, of embrace

And what is lost in separation is also found

Memories of union, moments of glory shared

Where reality comes into being through consensus

  Gazing into lovers eyes

Each becomes witness for the other

Aware of no other event save for the arrival of colours, sounds, flavour

A shared description of two souls

Prisms infused spectrums of light – of love

But also wherein the ‘little death’

Makes such description so historical, so unreliable, so bland

  Maybe there is grief

  A deeper past perhaps resides

A space wherein such heavenly thoughts cannot reach

  Where interfering voice declares

Past is not past – done is not done

And yet beyond all; the separate, the shared and history’s voice

  The moment is – now

How much more contemporary can it be?

And when you look inside yourself

To feel bodies memory of desire

  Is not eternity present?

And is not the ruling presence desire pure

Where untainted, unfettered and unaltered by mere thought

  Becomes both motivation and result

Alone with my longing but not lonely

                                   And Still in motion…………..

Climate change – Conjecture & Debate

The arguments and opinions from both “Climate Change” camps continues: to the left we have the ‘free radicals’ whose claims suggest that there are less than ten years before the entire planet and all creatures – great and small – who occupy her lands and waters are kaput. The far right, the big industry owners continue to push their own agenda and case for profiteering via the ongoing use of (finite) resources: both sides can deliver compelling rhetoric in order to perpetuate and sustain their stories – each to exclusion of the other, each to their own advantage. Others still – and these include indigenous stories not just the well-intentioned New Age commentators – will advise everything functions as part of a cycle and that there are spiraling cycles within other larger cycles: the earths elliptical orbit around the Sun and tilt of the earths axis as examples – all have invisible impact upon the environment and the ‘rodents’ living within it.

Speaking in Absolutes is always fraught.

When we are prepared to tell the whole story and not ‘cherry pick’ specific information – i.e. load our spiel to advantage our own presentation we will have to admit that we can’t really say for sure what the outcomes of the current/changing environmental conditions might produce. The science faction on the left will suggest that we can say with utmost certainty that the outcome will be dire and we can know this because we can return to the previous mass extinction events via geological record. Using these records and computer generated models will show the coming calamity is without doubt. Some of those who lean to the right believe that the earth was created in six days and on the seventh day GOD had a nap. The less fundamentalist debaters from these (right leaning) ranks will still load the discussion with some form of undeniable proof including that all resources on god’s green earth are meant to bring comfort and prosperity to god’s chosen few.

Opportunity knocks.

So while the sparring/warring commentators continue in the bid to win over the listening – mostly privileged – public the real offer goes begging. Anyone who is willing to look with honesty at the global situation: disparity between the haves and have nots, the chosen and the less important, could not be able to deny the ever so obvious: i.e. the way things are – are not the way things should be. The opportunity that is arising with the conjecture and debate (over the changes to global climate systems and the impact upon the natives) is the arrival of the third option: the coming together of the two currently separate sides and finding a new way forward. The likelihood of this occurring: is sadly I believe very remote. So ensconced in their own ‘rightness’ the fighters/the warring factions remain intent only on the delivery of facts at the expense of the truth and would rather continue to fight than take a step back: eat some humble pie, each to listen to the other.

Mortality and Adios

No matter which side of the debate we might find more appealing each of us has to understand the ultimate outcome. For the vast majority there was an event that occurred just after we came into this world: we took – or got given – our first breath. The last event before we die will be the other ‘bookend’ to the first event: the conclusion to our time on earth via the expiration of our life giving breath. Before the last event arrives the chance to reconcile the dispute is still available and this lack of reconciliation is what the fuss has always been about. The ongoing and seemingly ever widening chasm between all the different parts that comprise the total of the species Homo sapiens: ha the Wise Ape. Black/white, rich/poor, male/female right/wrong. These visible physical aspects and attributes are symptomatic of our inability to find Peace within. Chiron is the Wounded Healer archetype who brings with him the offer, the chance to mend the rift, the chance for healing. If we were really wise we would each and collectively accept the offer to make Peace and take the chance for the strong to care for the less fortunate, we would admit to our folly forgive ourselves and each other and begin from the beginning.

On Becoming Emmett and the requirement to be authentic.

Men grow a moustache because they have something to hide.

People who change their name do so for the same reason.

As the world around us descends further into chaos with all the systems upon which we depend continuing on into disarray and disintegration we are left with the burning question: what to do now? As part of the Old Ways: we in our ignorance and innocence used an approach that was once appropriate to the ages and time for which it was developed, NOW however that Old system is tired and broken. The foisting of responsibility onto the old paradigm structures of expecting the external authorities – governments and politicians – to take care of us – is NOW passé and redundant. Anyone who still believes (or holds out hope), that politicians have the care or capacity to initiate the changes needed – are delusion at best, moronic in truth. As for the private sector: with the exception of a few mindful corporate entities, this (capitalist) system too is NOW defunct: driven by the need to make profit – a win at all cost mentality that discourages and/or disallows interruption to its unsustainable bottom line ethic. So the two entities that were once designed and prepared to include the health of the many into their proper function are now bereft of such concerns. Some say technology will save us – someone will invent a way to halt these unwanted changes to right the ship the chorus chimes and then we can all relax and get back to how things should be. Really – a world wherein many are left to starve, dehydrate or survive without shelter: where children are sold as commodities to be savagely abused or butchered as an act of war – really – is this a world worth saving? We NOW live within a society that has become soulless where corruption is king, a world where there is scant regard for the human components of care and co-creation: a civilisation that is persistently void of support for each of its citizens – no encouragement to find meaning, where finding meaning would be defined as inclusive of supporting the care of and for all. The above outlined scenario contains both the good news and the bad for NOW it has become incumbent upon each of us to accept the task at hand and this task is twofold: the first part is the conscious taking of responsibility for how we (each) live our life. Incorporated into this notion is the day to day decision making process: the minutiae – the why’s and wherefores of how we make every choice and that with each choice made for it to be based upon the knowing that each decision and choice has impact upon the planet and all the species that live upon her.

Because the Macro is made up of the Micro the collective is comprised of individuals this brings us back to this story’s central character – as Paul McCartney once sang of Sgt Pepper “It was twenty years ago today –“ the timeframe is also true for this part of my own story. At the turn of the century I decided to change my name, this decision was based upon any number of reasons among which was to treat the occasion (see below) as a ‘rite of passage’. I was at the time living away from where I had spent the bulk of the years of prelude. It suddenly dawned on me that my life had taken an unexpected detour and that I was NOW in a situation where I got to choose the direction that the rest of my life’s path would follow. I wanted to mark the occasion with some sort of token, a memento and since I didn’t like the notion of getting a tattoo I decided upon changing my name. This would supply sufficient and lasting meaning to what had transpired and hopefully (because of the unfamiliar sound of the new name each time it was applied) it would also encourage me to become more conscious and determined to remember that I could always make choices as I set about the remainder of my life’s journey. The act, the rite was also one of rebellion for it had also occurred that the name I had been given as a baby was not of my choosing – I had always felt that we should be able to have some input into our ‘given’ name – the tag that would become affixed to us for the rest of our life – so I took the opportunity to walk the talk. How does this relate back to the requirement of authenticity and what has twenty years got to do with it? I had no idea how much our lives are impacted by our name, in fact we identify so strongly with it that we actually believe our name is who we are and as I was to find out that any alteration to this core belief is very unsettling: suddenly you are not who you have been! The decision to implement the change was all well and good whilst I was in the new environment, with new people: that is folks who didn’t know me by any other former name; however when the time arrived for me to return to my roots this was an entirely different scenario. Of course everybody knows that Men grow a moustache because they have something to hide and People who change their name do so for the same reason – there was obviously something nefarious and/or sinister that had occurred: I was running from something or hiding something or both or I had gone crazy. This biased mindset is very hard to penetrate and any attempt at explanation generally fell onto deaf ears, was met with suspicion or sympathy for the poor crazy person. These discriminatory responses were even harder to deal with when I realised that had it been another person and I was making judgement of them for changing their name I would have reacted in the exact same fashion – quite confronting to see how unconsciously judgemental I could be. So back to NOW: twenty years on – and the need to be authentic.

As mentioned earlier the unconscious affiliation with our ‘given’ name is stuck to us like shit to a blanket, like bubble gum to a teenagers matted hair. Remaining glued to how we think the world is – our own world view (via our name) gives us a sense of stability. We join a club, we join a church – we adopt the herd mentality and find safety in numbers. All of these benefits arrive it’s true but at what cost? What about when the beliefs of the herd no longer align with our own – what then. How do we retain our integrity if we see beliefs and behaviours that are based upon redundant ways of thinking that contain the innate ability to produce harmful judgements and outcomes? How are we being authentic if we don’t respond to the events that we know are wrong in a proper manner and in alignment with our updated views? We are NOW in a real bind a predicament, anyone with half a brain can see ‘things ain’t right’ – but where are the noise makers – what is stopping us from responding properly to these obvious wrongs?

The second part of the task is all about our authenticity: i.e. being authentic and we do this via the alignment of who we are with how we behave. We consciously and reverently put our soul back to where it belongs: into its rightful and pivotal place – into its Highness and from there we realign our own soul with the soul of the earth – our mother earth – in her highness. This alignment creates a centripetal spiral out into the galaxy from whence we came – our essential being in line with the universal vibration. This might all sound grandiose – farfetched – beyond our scope, this is not so. It is the constant conscious choices we make – it is the display of our personal commitment – incremental evidence of our desire to receive instruction – to humbly retrieve and apply the human traits of care and compassion. As mentioned earlier the taking of this action is not optional for if we are to survive the metamorphic shift that is already in motion then we have to be(come) the individual we were destined to be – I have to be Emmett. Only through being authentically me will I be able to participate, to make contribution to the needs of the collective.  Each and every day I have to willingly realign the template of me – that arrived with my first ever breath – to the breath that arrives for me each and every day. This new way of living on the planet will be done by living with the planet by way of humility and conscious reverence. We need to be able to let go of the old ways, the old thinking. The shift underway with the obvious example of climate change – is not for ‘fixing’ – the scope of this one aspect of the whole metamorphosis is beyond our ability to ‘fix’.  These seemingly negative Earthchanges are symptomatic: yes mother earth is letting us know that our poor conduct, bad behaviour and general mistreatment will no longer be tolerated but they are also part of a far bigger event. They are indicators of how I have become removed from my own ‘true’ self and that I need to consciously find a better way of conducting myself to elicit a return. These Earthchange indicators are the equivalent of archetypes of the psyche – neutral until activated. In the same way that we have to surrender and await instruction to be included into the metamorphosis we also need to willingly accept these archetypes as (mostly unwanted) aspects of self or they will continue to be interfering ghosts and remain calamitous. For those who know this information to be true you can ‘take heart’ – we have been invited to be part of the changes and to do this we cannot afford to let ourselves be overwhelmed by the size and scope of the disruptions. This is a ‘shift’ and this shift is away from the old and towards the proper new. The vast majority of us have until now been functioning through our intellect and forgetting that living without ‘heart’ – without reverence has produced this current situation. Our role is as mentioned: to concede that our thinking self does not know the way. Each of us needs to STOP and go within: inside the self. It is only by aligning, allowing the consciousness that is our essence to rest alongside the soul that we will get to hear the messages that are being offered from the God self: the source of pure intelligence and the source of magik. Each time you allow your breath to align with the template – the essential you – magik is made and the life path to your destiny becomes illuminated. It is this simple profound action – being still and listening that will allow you to be part of the changes, part of the evolution. And so it is for me – a modern day version of Rumpelstiltskin – or in the Oz vernacular Wrinkledforeskin. I have spent the last 20 years in slumber: yes asleep but as any dreamer will agree – being asleep is the best time to dream. As I awaken from my period of hibernation – each morning – I realise that if I want to bring the images and information that were Magikally formed during the sleep state, the dream world and into this 3D world to become integral part of the Earthshift changes – her metamorphosis – then I have to be my authentic self.

And speaking of Technology –

The Wizards of cyberspace are currently under the spell of their most recent project – to jack a smart phone direct into the brain stem. This will enable the user to give and receive information via thoughts, directly to/from the brain to the techno device. As exciting/enticing as the prospect of achieving this might be – to some – it is still more of the same: just another advance in technology. Anything that does not contain Heart intelligence will simply produce more of the same old crap. When Oppenheimer was working on his recipe thinking he might find/create a fuel source that would supply everyone with a clean green alternative the technology was instead used to create Weapons of Mass Destruction and we all know how that turned out. We have also given the nuclear industry permission to build over 450 nuclear power plants that as part of the looming mass extinction event will – when workers vacate their work stations at these facilities the power rods will become so incredibly hot that they will burn planet earth to a cinder – Hm that was a good idea and use of technology. Yes perhaps one day – if we survive the apocalypse – we will find a way of using radioactive isotopes to power long range spacecraft that will enable the chosen few to head off into space, into the ever expanding universe – the final frontier if you believe all the past captains of the starship Enterprise. Sorry to be a wet blanket (again) the desire to leave terra firma is just another distraction: the final frontier is, was and will always be located and found in the opposite direction of travelling outward. The essence of who we are is the ‘thing’ that we are searching for – it is within inside of us and it is this ‘Knowing’, this Knowledge that we need to understand and to stand under. I’m not saying don’t travel into outer space and I am not saying don’t play the piano: in fact all creative pursuits are highly recommended. It is about priorities that unless the captain on the bridge of the spaceship Enterprise has capacity to go inward to his heart space first – before any command or instruction issued to his navigational crew is given the journey’s effort will only ever yield a destination with more of the same – it might look different but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…….
